The Kisumu National Polytechnic (TKNP) is holding a three day FY 2026/2027 Budget Preparation and Sensitization Workshop, bringing together relevant stakeholders to strengthen participatory planning and enhance accountability in institutional resource allocation.
The workshop was presided over by the Chief Principal, Mrs. Catherine Kelonye, and attended by Deputy Principals; – Mr. Jared Hasea (Administration), Mr. Evans Onyango (Academics), the Registrar, Mr. Joshua Mose, alongside departmental heads and key officers involved in planning, finance, and service delivery.
Participants were taken through the budget formulation process, priority setting, and alignment of departmental plans with the institution’s Strategic Plan, TVET reforms, and national development priorities.
Emphasis was placed on evidence-based budgeting, efficient utilization of resources, and inclusive decision-making.
Addressing the forum, the Chief Principal underscored the importance of stakeholder engagement in developing a budget that supports quality, market-driven technical and vocational education and training while strengthening service delivery across the institution.
The sensitization forum also provided an opportunity for open dialogue, enabling departments to share inputs, challenges, and proposals aimed at improving training infrastructure, learner support services, and staff welfare.
The workshop marks a key milestone in TKNP’s commitment to transparent governance, prudent financial management, and institutional excellence, as the Polytechnic positions itself to respond effectively to emerging skills demands and regional development needs.
