Student Welfare

STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF DEAN OF STUDENTS

The Kisumu National Polytechnic stands out as a premier institution for skills-based education. The Polytechnic offers well-equipped facilities and maintains a strong sense of discipline among students, supported by enthusiastic lecturers. The close relationship between students, lecturers, and staff fosters an environment of teamwork, contributing to academic excellence and enhancing students’ employability upon graduation.

The Office of the Dean of Students (DoS) plays a crucial role in student welfare, supporting personal growth and academic success. Under the guidance of the Chief Principal, the DoS coordinates services such as Guidance and Counselling, Accommodation, Catering, Clinical services, Clubs and Societies, and Sports. It also collaborates with the Security department and offers chaplaincy services.

The Kisumu National Polytechnic Students’ Association (KINAPOSA) empowers students through elected leadership, addressing social, financial, and academic concerns. The association organizes cultural and social activities and ensures that student issues are effectively articulated. The DoS oversees annual KINAPOSA elections and provides leadership training for newly elected officials.

The Polytechnic encourages students, staff, and parents to continue fostering the consultative and supportive relationships that have made the institution a reputable academic hub.
