The Principal Secretary State Department for TVET Dr. Esther Muoria has called for enhanced governance, accountability, and strategic leadership across TVET institutions to ensure effective service delivery and optimal utilization of resources.Speaking during the Governance and Leadership Training for The Kisumu National Polytechnic Governing leadership held at the KenGen Geothermal Training Centre, the PS emphasized the critical role of strong policy frameworks, financial oversight, and institutional integrity in driving the TVET agenda forward.
The training, organized by The Kisumu National Polytechnic, brought together Council members and management to strengthen capacity in governance, policy implementation, and performance evaluation. In his remarks, Governing Council Chair Eng. Judah Ochieng Abekah underscored the importance of continuous capacity building for Council members to effectively discharge their oversight mandate and steer institutions towards excellence.
Council Secretary and Chief Principal Ms. Catherine Kelonye reaffirmed the institutionโ€™s commitment to sound governance practices, noting that the training provides a platform to align leadership with national development priorities and institutional goals.The week-long engagement is expected to enhance governance structures, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and position TVET institutions for improved performance and impact.
